Testimonials

"Working with Cecily Moreton was a fabulous experience.  It’s hard to find someone with her the depth and breadth of both knowledge and practical experience. She helped me achieve some very important personal and professional goals, and most importantly helped me surface and shift some attitudes which were holding me back.  The strength of her methodology is the combination of a positive, goal-oriented approach, with a sensitivity and depth of care and understanding which enables her to be a true mentor and guide.  I was also impressed by Cecily's large and extensive network of resources and contacts which enabled me to work on issues in a very pragmatic way, whilst simultaneously resolving personal issues. As a result I am a thousand times happier in my personal life, and have forged ahead in leaps and bounds both personally and professionally.
I have no hesitation in recommending her to anybody, and have used her extensively in my own consultancy practice.   The feedback has been consistently outstanding. My clients are especially impressed with her work with managers, and in particular, her ability to achieve change working with executives at the highest level."
Geraldene Callanan, Director, Quadrant Consulting

"I have known Cecily Moreton for over ten years. On many occasions our consultancy work has overlapped, resulting in her referring clients to me or my referring clients to her. As a consequence of such collaboration, I have achieved a keen insight into the way Cecily works and the success and efficacy that her approach yields. The words I associate with Cecily's quality of work are intelligence, insight, good will, ethics and empathy. These qualities inform her work and though they seem abstract and hard to pinpoint, in fact it's the practical, strategic and success-oriented nature of her work that is most refreshing and commendable.
Cecily heals and inspires, enabling the client to see anew, shift obstacles in their path, and achieve what they thought was impossible."
Dr Ruth Wajnryb, Director, LARA Consultancy

"Like a number of professionals in demanding positions, I was working 12-hour days in a major investment bank, had commenced a part-time Masters for professional development and was also renovating a house! At our first meeting, Cecily quickly demonstrated her gift: she is someone who possesses a rare insight into an individual's strengths and weaknesses but who is immensely practical. She instils calmness as soon as you meet her, balanced with constructive suggestions on how to actually implement the required changes. As my coach, Cecily was the driver for my move into management consulting and has continued to be invaluable by helping me to identify solutions to some complex issues."
Sharon Reynolds, Consulting Principal, DMR Consulting

"Coaching with Cecily gave me focus and confidence that what I am doing is viable and right for me. Brainstorming was great. It helped me to put my concepts and ideas into practice. Cecily pushed me to drill down to the detail. I had to come to grips with my services, pricing and marketing. She made me write a Business Plan. I had to do some work on it before every meeting which helped me keep the ball rolling.
Coaching sessions made me stop and consciously move my business forward from a concept to something real and tangible. Cecily encouraged and supported my belief that I could make it happen."

Feedback from managers from 2 national companies (retail and utility) in the doctoral research group, at the final/12th session:

“You deliver an honest and open relationship. I am no longer sceptical. The key thing is the last six months has been our relationship. The ideas in the group session and the books I read were helpful but they only had meaning because of the depth of our coaching relationship.” …”you turn weaknesses into strengths”  “It’s because of the person you are, the relationship I have with you”. Female 1

“I respect you. You are a toolbox for me. We have a reasonable rapport, understanding and sense of humour…You gave me some very tough feedback. That was OK …I took feedback on board at first because of your credentials and then we debated stuff and then I really valued you.” Male 1

“It’s a reflective relationship. I like you and relate with you well … You were aware I was very overloaded and you supported me. You understood that my overload undermined my capacity to run the business well. .. I am better equipped…because of the modelling, practising and rehearsing how to deal with people … I’ve always been interested and read about good management but I’ve not found a good model, and in this coaching I can see how to make it work. This executive coaching has helped me operationalise the book learning.”

“I trusted you straight away. I just felt it intuitively. There’s a feeling that you are not left feeling humiliated or in an undignified position or floundering and that your ideas will be respected and the other person’s intentions towards you are good.” Female 2

“It’s been pretty open and honest. I’ve struggled to articulate at times. I tend to analyse and you make me just do it. I love to sit down and have the sort of discussions we’ve had. I walk out feeling a whole lot better because things are sorted out in my mind and then I feel better.”  He went on to say: “Talking with you helped me see the listeners’ reactions and to do a reaction check and a reality check and to look for positive signals. It really helped me get it sorted. You gave me tough feedback. It was good - there were no surprises. I see that I was working too much in the business. I still need to delegate more and work on the business.” Male 2

“In the last six months I am a better manager. I am definitely a better manager and I think I am a better leader. It’s interesting, as issues arise, I try to get people to think about them in a way that’s not threatening. I’m not directive, and I get the guys talking. I’m much more active helping my manager… It’s an interesting relationship. I’ve never been in one like it. I went through a resistance phase and questioned whether these things are important and I considered pulling out. But then the shift happened. How I interact with my family and also I knew and agreed with you that I was not assertive so I decided to stay with it.”  He said “We have a very frank relationship. You have a positive mode of feedback so I didn’t really feel threatened. I respected your experience. I especially enjoyed learning from your other stories and other work experience.” Male 3.
